Rhalou is our web sheriff, so if there’s any chaos on the forums or route-mapping issues that need straightening out, she’s your woman. Rhalou only started running two years ago, but she loves it so much she now runs several times a week. ‘Running has changed my life. It’s a great way to make time for myself as I love getting lost in my thoughts,’ says Rhalou. ‘It also means I get to eat more cake.’
She ran her first marathon in Brighton last April, and is now quietly plotting world domination of the ultra kind. When not at work, Rhalou can be found riding her bicycle, listening to disco, eating hummus and running excitedly around the Park. Her favourite song is Aint Nobody by Chaka Khan.
Christina Neal
Editor-in-Chief
christina.neal@womensrunninguk.co.ukChris is the Editor-in-Chief, which means it's her job to run the show. ‘I love the variety of my job, covering the topic of running, which I'm passionate about, and working with my highly talented and creative team,’ says Chris.
She runs three to four times a week and also goes to the gym. ‘I run for between 20 to 40 minutes every other day,’ she says. ‘I am not a fast runner, I firmly believe in pacing yourself! In my view, this is the best way to avoid injuries and it also makes the experience of running more enjoyable.’ Her favourite song to run to is Plastic Dreams by Jay Dee. When not at work, Chris can be found drinking wine, stroking her two gorgeous cats, Arnie and Sylvester, and riding her motorbike (though not all at once!).
Claire Chamberlain
Sub Editor
claire.chamberlain@womensrunninguk.co.uk Our Sub-Editor Claire makes sure everything is word-perfect on the page before the magazine goes to print. She has been running for four years. ‘I try to do a short run and interval training during the week, and a longer run at the weekend. I also swim once a week and occasionally attempt the odd spinning class.’
Claire has taken part in several 10Ks, two 10-mile races, three half marathons and two marathons. ‘I love the fact I get to work on a magazine that I'm genuinely passionate about. As a bit of a running enthusiast, being able to legitimately think about running all day seems like a pretty good deal!’ she says.
When not at work, Claire loves drinking wine with friends, pub lunches, eating chocolate, weekends by the coast, walking her mum's dog, playing SingStar with her sister, curling up with a good book and spending time with her lovely husband. Her favourite song is Are You Gonna Be My Girl? by Jet.
Amber Spencer
Advertising Sales Executive
amber.spencer@womensrunninguk.co.uk Amber sells advertising space in our magazines and their respective websites. ‘I love working with fun people who are passionate about what they do,’ she says. ‘The Wild Bunch team really do live and breathe running, so we all have our own stories and opinions. Plus it’s great to know everybody’s ready to get stuck in and help out when needed.’
Amber runs at least three times a week. ‘I’m generally a gym runner, but am trying to push myself out doors now and then! Having someone to run with and an event to train for is a big help.’
So what does Amber do to relax? ‘Exercise! I think it’s the best way to blow off steam and deal with stress. You can do it alone or with friends depending on your mood, and you always feel good about yourself afterwards.’
Amber’s favourite song is The Cave by Mumford & Sons.
Ben Lusk
Classified Sales Executive
ben.lusk@wildbunchmedia.co.ukBen looks after the classified advertising. He may not be a woman, but he still loves running, playing football and going to the gym, and he’s hoping to run a half-marathon in the next year and a marathon the year after. ‘I love working with such a cool bunch of ladies!’ says Ben, whose favourite song to run to is Right Here Right Now by Fat Boy Slim.
