Join the WaterAid team to run the 2012 Brighton Marathon
Bigger and better than ever for the Olympic year, The Brighton Marathon takes in the city centre’s vibrant atmosphere and fabulous stretches of coastal road. This event is the perfect alternative to the Virgin London Marathon.
In the average time it takes to complete a marathon over 800 children will die – that’s one child every 20 seconds. Not because of war or disaster. But simply because they have to drink dirty water and lack adequate sanitation.
Mtinsunge, pictured above, struggles to carry home a 20 litre container of dirty water – a three mile round trip she has to do every single day.Run for WaterAidWith your support WaterAid will use their skills, knowledge and their 30 years’ of experience to save even more children’s lives - providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene education to some of the world’s poorest communities.WaterAid will support their team all the way to the end with:
- An exclusive marathon training day for WaterAid runners of any fitness level.
- A post-race reception where you can refuel on refreshments and celebrate your achievements with friends, family and fellow runners.
- Fantastic support on the day, with the loudest cheering points at crucial stages along the route to keep you going.
- A monthly e-newsletter including fundraising and training advice.
- Continuous advice and support from WaterAid's experienced events team.
- The opportunity to run in a WaterAid costume such as a tap, toilet or a bucket hat.

Run the Brighton Marathon for WaterAid and save the lives of thousands of children, just like Mtinsunge. Raising £500 in sponsorship could buy a public tap stand for a whole village in Ethiopia for example.
